YCDSB - The Holocaust in History and Living Memory

Beginning on May 9, 2015 twenty five students from the York Catholic District School Board enrolled in a two-credit experiential learning experience to learn about the Holocaust and the lessons humanity must learn from the past. Students engage in literary works, media assignments, historical documentation, and a two-week field study to Germany and Poland to expand on their understanding of genocide and to carry out a mission of bearing witness. On May 9, May 23, and June 6 students and teachers came together to begin working on the credits to be earned - English and Interdisciplinary Studies. These three Saturdays were also intended to get to know each other and build community.
